Google Sites features a graphical interface that lets users create pages with no HTML coding.

Users can embed YouTube videos and content from Google’s Calendar, Docs and Picasa sites, and will also be allowed to upload any sort of file type to their site.

“We are literally adding an ‘edit’ button to the web,” said Dave Girouard, vice president and general manager of enterprise at Google.

One of the biggest selling points of Google Sites will be its collaboration features. The service will also give web masters the option of allowing other users to edit the pages and upload content to sites.

Google said that much of the technology for the service comes from JotSpot

Google, IBM, Microsoft, VeriSign, and Yahoo! have joined the board of the OpenID Foundation, the organisation set up to facilitate access to multiple online services with a single username and password.

The move follows Yahoo! last month announcing that its accountholders would be able to use any web site supporting OpenID without creating a separate username and password. A year ago, Microsoft pledged to integrate OpenID 2.0 with the CardSpace identity management systems developed in conjunction with Windows Vista.

While the OpenID Foundation serves a stewardship role around the community’s intellectual property, the Foundation’s board itself does not make any decisions about the specifications the community is collaboratively building. However the Foundation claimed that “By bringing on these companies and their resources, the OpenID Foundation will now be able to better serve the needs of the entire OpenID community. In 2008, we can expect to see a larger focus on making OpenID even more accessible to a mainstream audience, the development of a World-wide trademark usage policy (much like the Jabber Foundation and Mozilla have done), and a larger international focus on working with the OpenID communities in Asia and Europe.”

At the beginning of 2006, there were less than 500 websites where OpenID could be used. Today there are well over 10,000, according to the Foundation.

With the Adbux paid to click program you can earn 1 cent for every ad that you click! This is a great PTC program that pays from a minimum amount of $10 via PayPal.

Earning money from this Paid To Click program is easy. Opening an account only takes a few seconds. After confirming your email address, you may login to your Adbux account and click the ‘Surf Ads’ link from the menu.

From there you will be taken to the area where the advertisements are listed. You may open one link at the time, and after 30 seconds of visiting the advertised website, you have earned 1 cent! Every day there will be new ads for you, waiting to be clicked on. Usually there are at least 10 of them each day. That means you can earn 10 cents in 3 minutes every day, just for clicking some links. But wait, there is much more earning potential in this Adbux program. Besides from clicking links, there is also the possibility to earn a reasonable amount of money by referring other people to the program. For each click that a referral makes, you earn a whopping 1 cent!

With such a high rewarding referral program you could earn a reasonable amount of free money every month, while others are doing most of the work for you! If you only refer 10 friends, who all click 10 links per day, and of course you spend your daily 3 minutes clicking your own ads, you’d earn $30 cash monthly. How hard could it be to refer ten people to a program that pays people to click on ads? Adbux provides you with a tracking referral link, all you have to do is refer people to that link. Considering that the internet is a pretty busy place, it should not be difficult to generate traffic to your referral link.

Some popular ways to promote Adbux are: making use of signature space in forums, emailing friends and family, writing reviews, advertising with banners. However, it is neither necessary nor mandatory to recruit new members. Adbux is still all about clicking ads and earning one cent per click.

Join Adbux PTC today and start earning money online. Enjoy some extra spending money, whilst learning more about internet business at the same time; most paid advertisements are home business and internet marketing promotions, sometimes providing useful tips on how to make money online.

AdToll.com, the premier advertisement management network, has launched worldwide on June 18, 2007. This new program essentially helps webmasters to market and sell ads to prospective advertisers on their websites.

This revolutionary new network is sure to change the way that publishers and advertisers come together to do business. Publishers working for Adtoll will make much more than any other network on the internet because AdToll believes that publishers should have the money they have rightfully made. Therefore, AdToll only takes 25% of the income that websites generate whereas other networks take, on average, more than 50% of website’s generated income. Not only that, but AdToll provides one-on-one assistance to help publishers generate the most income such as advising in strategic places that ads should be placed.

AdToll supports users by offering text ads and banner ads in a plethora of different sizes. In addition, AdToll is known for its ability to, unlike other ad management services, to seamlessly blend advertisements with content to generate more revenue.
It looks like the folks at Nintendo HQ have cause to bake a celebratory Wii cake, as Reuters reports that the company is now Japan’s fifth-biggest in terms of market value after word of solid earnings performance pushed shares higher in trading today. According to Reuters, the company’s market value now stands at ¥8.69 trillion (or about $72 billion), which places it ahead of both NTT and Honda Motor Co. The jump, of course, is largely due to demand for the Wii and Nintendo DS, which has also caused the company to up its operating profit forecast by a hefty 37 percent to ¥370 billion ($3.1 billion) for the year to March 2008. Unsurprisingly, Nintendo doesn’t see that demand letting up anytime soon either, with it now saying it expects to sell 16.5 million Wiis in the current business year, along with 26 million DSs — both numbers of which are 18 percent higher than previous forecasts by the company.

Sony is reporting that its overall net profits more than doubled during the past quarter, bolstered by the success of films such as Spider-Man 3, and snappy sales of its traditional electronics. Things in the company’s PS3 camp, however, still looked a little bleaker than the Japanese giant had probably hoped for. Losses for the game system rose from 26.8 billion yen to 29.2 billion yen, with 710,000 units sold worldwide — not real impressive when compared to competitor Nintendo’s Wii sales of 3.43 million. In a somewhat ironic aside, Nielsen GamePlay Metrics, a division of Nielsen Co. which tracks video game activity, says that the most played game system last month was Sony’s seven-year-old PS2. The report shows the aging system leading other consoles with 42 percent of use, followed by the original Xbox at 17 percent, and Xbox 360 at 8 percent. The Wii and PS3 fall at 4 and 1.5 percent, respectively. Should be food for thought for everyone at Sony who doesn’t think backwards compatibility is a big deal.

Effectively, the displays emulate a real cockpit, where each bit of information comes from a separate module that is integrated into the dash. The device is scheduled for a fall launch, will cost only $99.99, and will be supported in several flight sims beyond the obvious Flight Simulator X — we’re crossing our fingers for X-Plane support.

While there may be one very obvious Sony gaming peripheral that’s screaming out for a rumble feature, that hasn’t stopped modders from looking at adding the functionality to other Sony gadgets. A modder by the handle of FOO-f00 has given the PSP a basic rumble feature through a bundle of wires and circuitry that somehow translates the speaker volume into a signal that a motor can use. FOO-f00 made it so it only activates once a high enough pitch is reached, but we’d imagine the result is far from a perfect rumble feature. Still, the project is very much a proof of concept: and an awesome concept at that.

This uber-retro head hides no secret in-ear headphones, Bluetooth chip, or whispering voice that alerts you of colored ghosts approaching from the rear, but you’re sure to be the life of the party if you roll up with this on your noggin. Reportedly, this spectacular blast from the not-too-distant past is available in both child and adult sizes, but considering that quantities “are limited,” we’d suggest coughing up that $29.99 real quick like if this just skyrocketed to the top of your must-have list.

We’ve been around the block a few times on this rumor, but The Hollywood Reporter is citing an unnamed source that seems to think the Xbox 360 is going to get a $50 price drop in August, so we might as well give it another go. The Hollywood Reporter is saying the pending price drop is because of the traditional sales doldrums that time of the year, and our friends at Joystiq point out the convenient proximity to a certain “Halo 3″ being launched in September, but we’re sure it’s because Microsoft is just sick and tired of making so much dang profit on these here Xboxen. Either way, August isn’t far off, so we’ll be solving this little mystery right quick.

Those include a red acrylic window on the rear of the unit that’ll let you see the UMD spinning, as well as some red LEDs that light up the PSP’s two shoulder buttons (head on over after the break for some more pics). Only the most die hard God of War fans need apply here though, as last we checked the bidding was around the $1,200 mark. On the upside, 15% of the final sale price will go to the Child’s Play charity, and you’ll also get that classy velvet-lined case to display your new prized possession in.

Custom photo wallpapers for the XMB, messaging emoticons, AVCHD video playback direct from Memory Stick or camcorder, DMB sorting of hard drive-based games, upscaled CD audio over HDMI or digital optical outs, and a new forced 1080p24 HDMI output for Blu-ray films. In a recent Bit-tech article, Ageia’s Dan Forster tackles concerns over the need for PPUs, and (in)directly addresses Carmack’s statement that “multiple CPU cores will be much more useful in general,” by suggesting that no matter how many cores are involved, there are timing issues between them when being distributed to separate tasks. Forster claims “At the moment, there’s not a single game that supports multi-threading even at a basic level…” Leaving some of us to wonder just what Carmack is on about — but do you really want to question the man who created Doom? Didn’t think so.

While prices and release dates for Rock Band have been floating for a while now, it looks like things may have finally settled down, with the entire kit now available for pre-order at a couple of retailers. If you’re ready to go all out, you can snag a bundle for either the 360 or PS3 that includes the game, guitar, microphone, and drum set for $199, although you’ll still have to wait until November 20th to actually get it. The whole lot is also available individually, with the game running $60, the microphone $30, and the drum set $80. Somewhat curiously, the 360 version of the wireless guitar is listed at $80 on both Amazon and GameStop, while the PS3 version only costs $50, although GameStop still says that the prices are “subject to change.”

A band of would-be Playstation-delivery truck thieves in Australia had the rug snatched out from under them when police used the vehicle’s built-in GPS to track and locate the stolen goods. The truck, loaded with more than $1 million AUD worth of PS2s, was taken from a freight depot in Sydney that the thieves had broken into. The group of evil-doers would have made off clean, save for the fact that local authorities were able to follow the direction and speed of the truck to the gang’s suburban shed, where they had begun unloading the game systems — clearly they should have picked up a few tips from Best Buy’s dastardly villains. When questioned later by police, the leader of the ring was reported to have said, “And we would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for your meddling GPS!”

[Thanks, Ricky C]

After dissecting a Pokemon Pinball GBA game and ripping the rumble motor from a salvaged Nokia 5100, he put his circuitry knowledge to work and conjured up a rumble device that fit flush in the DS Lite and cost him nothing more than a little blood, sweat, and tears. Be warned, however, that this guide isn’t for the faint of heart (or those who don’t natively speak in 1s and 0s), but feel free to tag the read link and get busy if you dare.

The underground scene of game-created music is really thriving, with the latest example to emerge from under the radar being a drum machine hack for a GameBoy. A bright yellow GameBoy, 1MB of flash memory, a serial interface, and a custom ROM is all that’s needed to put out some beats: with a little help from some solenoids and flat surfaces, of course. Putting it all together is the hard part, and half the fun we suspect.

Talking to Boot Daily on the topic of Intel’s QX6850 CPU, Carmack states that future multiple core CPUs will be able to take the strain of physics processing. Carmack does have a fair degree of interest in this area, with Ageia’s PhysX card being supported on the Unreal Engine 3 platform, which happens to be developed by iD software’s rival, Epic Games. If there’s one thing we can be sure to garner out of this statement, it’s that iD software’s new gaming platform iD Tech 5 won’t be one that favors dedicated physics processors.

In a recent interview with Kaz Hirai, he mentioned that Sony is currently looking at “a variety of other things [besides rumble] that it can incorporate with the controller,” and while he wasn’t giving out specifics, he did say that we could look forward to any enticing announcements in due time. He also declared that the controller itself was an “evolving peripheral,” and piqued our interest even more by suggesting that the existing model would not be “the final model for a PS3 controller.” If nothing else, we’re utterly relieved to know that conjuring up a controller for the PlayStation 4 will be a piece of cake — getting a first-party rumbling version for the PS3, however, still seems to be an issue.

There’s no real debating the fact that this innovative gaming platform has not only become a success in and of itself but fundamentally influenced the way we interact with our devices as well, yet it’s certainly far from the perfect product, and there are a number of things we’re sure you’d like to see added / changed / removed. For instance, it would pretty sweet if I could use this thing as my DVD player too. Or, why is it so dang hard to befriend someone? And of course, this being 2007 and all, where’s that HD already?

Bonus: While no one really complains about this much anymore, as we recall, the name “Wii” wasn’t all that well received among haters and fanboys alike when it was first revealed. Since this post is all about changes, we also want to know: if you could go back in time, how would you have branded Nintendo’s worldwide hit?

Microsoft will let users select a default search program, as they can now with Web browsers, media players, and security programs. Queries from within Vista’s Control Panel and certain windows will default to Microsoft’s search tool but will include a link to competing products. Microsoft also will make available to developers information that lets them optimize the performance of third-party search products.

Microsoft last week agreed to change the way Windows Vista handles desktop search queries in response to a confidential antitrust complaint filed by Google. It was the first sign of friction between the two companies regarding how Google’s software gets treated by Microsoft’s newest operating system–but it probably won’t be the last.

Google had complained to the Justice Department that Vista’s desktop search is anti-competitive because it’s difficult to disable and, when Vista’s search runs in tandem with Google’s search tool, the latter slows to a crawl.

Just an update, we have introduced the ad revenue system in our Webmaster Forum. You can add your adsense pub id in your profiles and take part in our ad sharing program.

We have set 100% share for all our users for the first 1 month. With this ratio each and every user taking part in our ad sharing program stands a chance of receiving 100% ad share for each post made by him/her.

To get your adsense id, look at your ad code:

For example:google_ad_client = "pub-1200000000000000";

Your adsense ID that you would enter in your profile:

pub-1200000000000000

This is how it works:

1. You enter your Adsense ID in your profile.
2. You post a new topic or make a reply to an existing topic.
3. When you have at least 10 posts (as of now everyone can participate) and you’re actively participating, your Adsense ID is used for ads randomly and thus generating you income for the clicks made on the banners when your Adsense ID is used.

Your ad exposure depends on certain factors and a weight is calculated based on these. We do reveal some of the factors taken into account, however, we cannot list all of them for security purposes.

We hope you take part in this and earn while you post on our forums.

If you need any support, you can ask us in this thread we will be happy to assist you.

We will keep you updated about any futhur developments with this program.
